The 33-year-old victim sustained wounds to his leg and eventually died in hospital following the incident at 3am on Saturday night. According to London 999 Feed, the Metropolitan Police were called to Seven Sisters Road, near to the junction with Vartry Road. Following the brutal stabbing, a murder investigation as commenced.

Police described the stabbing as a “seemingly unprovoked attack”.

As yet, no arrests have been made.

A crime scene remains in place after being set up in the early hours of June 1.

In a statement, Met Police confirmed that officers and members of the London Ambulance Service were both on the scene following reports of the attack.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to a north London hospital.

The statement added: “Next of kin are aware, but officers await formal identification. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

“Detectives from North Area Command had launched an urgent investigation following the assault.

“The investigation will now be led by colleagues from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.”

Police also confirmed that enquiries into the circumstances remained ongoing.

The project brings together specialists from across the UK to tackle violent crime and its causes.

Following the announcement that an additional £100m would be given to police forces to help tackle knife crimes, Police Federation chair John Apter warned that sum would be “nowhere near enough”.
