Screams were heard at around 12.50AM in the Russell Square area. 

A man was spotted clutching his stomach and coughing at the scene. 

Police are believed to be in attendence after sirens were heard approaching the area of the attack.

A man was seen on the phone to the police as he urged a man to stop running.

A local man told Express.co.uk he was sleeping when the blood-curdling screams woke him up.
