Locals disgusted after cyclists ‘peed in beer garden then left without paying’

He said they “stormed off without paying” and that when they did set off they did so in a way which frightened fellow travellers.
Mr Hare said: “To top it off they cycled off down the Trail in this great pack bellowing ‘Cyclists coming through! Cyclists coming through!’, knocking aside pedestrians and mums with pushchairs as they went.”
Although this micro-micturating peloton doesn’t represent all cyclists, their bad behaviour is one reason why some Cornish locals don’t enjoy the presence of tourists in their beloved county.
One of the most common reasons for their displeasure is the wave of traffic they bring with them as thousands of families make the journey southwest in thunderous SUVs.
Some locals are reportedly so fed up with the amount of traffic and disruption that they would prefer it if there were fewer tourists.
Speaking to exclusively to Express.co.uk, St Ives’ A1 Cars’ Andrew Ward said: “The locals can’t even move their own cars and the traffic gets horrendous.
“You only need to look at the chaos by Truro. The whole of this end of Cornwall around Hale and down to Penzance can be a real nightmare with queuing traffic.
“We need the tourists, that’s the only problem… a lot of the locals would prefer fewer tourists.”

‘Second home owners and Airbnbs have pushed us out of our seaside town'[INSIGHT]
Mr Ward’s comments are reflective of a conflict in Cornwall, the county relies heavily on tourism for its economy, but its isn’t always positive.
Residents of the popular seaside town Falmouth, on Cornwall’s south coast, have said rich outsiders are buying all of their properties and forcing local people out.
Writing in The i, local resident Oliver Berry said: “The competition’s fierce. Every property has dozens of applicants. There are too few places, and too many people looking.
“Post-pandemic, the ‘staycation’ boom has made things worse, as landlords cashed in on the returns of short-term lets at the expense of long-term tenants.”
Mr Berry added: “The work-from-home revolution has exacerbated the inequality equation: cash-rich buyers moving from more affluent areas of the UK wiled a purchasing power with which local people can’t compete.”
Adding pressure to an already strained and competitive property market are the thousands of students who call the area home for three years and sometimes longer if they choose to stay.
For some, the situation is so bad they are having to sofa surf whilst studying because they are unable to find or afford a place to live.
This is a situation some fear will only get worse as inflation rises and the cost of living crisis worsens, affecting the poorest the most.
