Little boy filmed driving lorry along motorway as man shouts directions
Police are investigating footage that apparently shows a young boy driving on a motorway.
In the eight-second Snapchat video, the child appears to be operating a lorry while a man shouts directions from the passenger seat.
The clip is said to have been recorded on the M1 close to Dungannon, in Northern Ireland.
The man is heard telling the boy to ‘keep over’ after he begins to veer into a slipway.
DUP Councillor Clement Cuthbertson described the footage as ‘recklesss’ and said he hoped the man and boy would be identified quickly.
‘The video circulating on social media is shocking,’ he told the Belfast Telegraph.
‘It’s reckless to see it not only on a local road but on a motorway. It is totally wrong.’
The PSNI has confirmed it is investigating the video.
The police force has appealed for the public’s help in identifying the man and boy, adding it was clear the child was ‘under the age of gaining a valid driving licence.’
A PSNI spokesman added: ‘We have received a report and are aware of footage which has been shared on social media and are making inquiries.’
