The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to be heading to UK soil for the christening of their second child, nicknamed ‘Lili’. Born on June 4 this year, Lili was named after her great-grandmother, the Queen. Prince Harry has said he remains very close to his grandmother, and he is reportedly eager for his daughter to meet her.
Meghan Markle and Harry are believed to have put in a formal request to visit the Queen and introduce her to little Lili.
They have held a somewhat strained relationship with the rest of the Royal Family since their decision to step down as working royals last year.
However, relationship expert James Preece told Express.co.uk that Lili’s christening could be the perfect time to draw a line under their previous differences.
He said: “Family celebrations are usually extremely positive celebrations.

“When we attend events like this, it’s normal to slot into the same ‘role’ that we’ve previously been comfortable with.
“This will include being chatty, sociable and playful with people we already know.
“As such, it’s a great time for healing any rifts as it’s so much easier to act the same way you did in the past.”
Harry and older brother Prince William are believed to have a particularly fractured relationship, despite everything they went through together as children.
Vanity Fair’s royal reporter Katie Nicholl said earlier this year that “William and other members of the family have some very strong feelings about some of the things Harry and Meghan said” in the Oprah Winfrey interview.
However, things seem to have started to move in the right direction of late.
The brothers spoke at Prince Philip’s funeral, and were seen joking with one another at the unveiling of their mother’s statue in July.
A royal source told Us that the brothers spent the morning prior to the unveiling “looking through old keepsakes, notes from Diana and bonding”.

While Harry has returned on a few occasions since the infamous interview, Meghan has not set foot on British soil since — partly due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Preece explained the christening may be a blessing in this respect.
He said: “Face to face meetings are always the best way to nip any problems in the bud rather than phone calls.
“You can read body language and get a good feeling as to how the other person is reacting.
“So, the fact that Meghan and Harry are attending means that they will be able to have a much calmer conversation on good terms. The focus will be on Lilibet rather than them, so it’s unlikely there will be arguments.”
Mr Preece added: “It’s also a clear sign that they are willing to do what it takes to make it work.”
Meghan and Harry’s son Archie, born in May 2019, was christened at Windsor Castle by Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Sussexes did not make the identities of his godparents public in a break from royal tradition.
According to reports in The Sun, a request has been put in to have Lili’s christening at the historic castle, just like her brother.
Archie’s christening was held behind closed doors, so it is likely the same will apply for Lili. The Sussexes have yet to give the world a glimpse of their little bundle of joy.
Some of the guests in attendance for Archie’s big day were Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
He wore a handmade replica of the royal christening gown that had been worn by royal babies for the 11 years prior.
It is expected that the Sussexes will follow similar traditions if they are granted their Windsor Castle ceremony for young Lili.
