The Duke and Duchess of Sussex displayed pictures of their daughter when she was just a few days old in the sixth episode of their bombshell documentary Harry & Meghan. Among the most heartwarming snaps was one showing the tiny baby Lili cocooned in a blanket while Meghan strokes her back.
Another shows the baby sleeping against Meghan’s chest and a third one features Prince Harry giving a delicate kiss on his daughter’s nose.
Clips included in the documentary also show the girl learning how to walk and blowing on candles at her first birthday party.
In the latter video, Archie Harrison also makes an appearance as he is asked to help his sister put out the candles on her birthday cake.
Lili’s first birthday was celebrated in the UK as it fell in the midst of the long bank holiday weekend celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The toddler’s special day was marked by her parents, Archie and a group of close friends and relatives.
The Platinum Jubilee weekend also marked Lili’s first-ever trip to England and an occasion for the baby to meet in person the late Queen.
The pair welcomed Lili, whose names pay tribute to Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II, on June 4 2021.
In a statement shared a few days later via the website of their organisation, Archewell, the Duke and Duchess said: “On 4 June, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.
“She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.
“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”
Speaking about the birth of their daughter in the sixth episode of their Netflix documentary, Meghan said: “There was something that felt so complete once we had Lilibet.
“Everyone just really respected that we’ve been through so much and that we, like any parent, deserve to just welcome their child into the world peacefully, and have that time as a family to nurture and cocoon. Which we did, with the addition of our little toddler.”
Harry said his daughter’s features are very much “Spencer-like”.
He said: “I think at the moment, I see a lot of my wife in Archie. I see a lot of my mum in Lili. She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes.”
Elsewhere in the docu-series, it was also revealed the Sussexes asked their friend and producer Tyler Perry to be Lili’s godfather.
Mr Perry was a pivotal figure for Harry and Meghan’s lives during their first few months in California.
As it was revealed in the Netflix programme, the pair and their children travelled across the Canadian border on March 14 2020 and were hosted for weeks by Mr Perry at his Los Angeles home, who also provided them with security detail.
