Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William may have to “tone down” their new videos, according to a royal commentator. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently announced the start of a YouTube channel to post more content. ITV Royal Rota podcast hosts Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson discussed the reaction to the first releases.

Ms Robinson said: “I thought their new YouTube is very slick, isn’t it?

“Very polished, a bit like the video we saw of the family to mark 10 years of marriage.”

Mr Ship added: “Some people said it felt like a John Lewis advert or an advert for Barbour outdoor wear or something.

“It was very slick indeed wasn’t it? Very slick, very polished.”

He continued: “As I think this YouTube one is. We’ll see if that tones down.

“They’ve got a digital team that works with them.

“It was a filmmaker called Will War that did their anniversary one.

“But I think their digital team have done their YouTube video.”

“It’s always nice seeing trips that we’ve gone on and events that we’ve been out and stories we’ve covered.”

So far three videos have been uploaded to the channel, which has just under half a million subscribers.
