Light aircraft crashes at Merseyside golf course
A microlight aircraft has crashed at the Royal Birkdale Golf Course in Merseyside, police say.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 7pm on Thursday evening.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue are extinguishing a fire that broke out when the aircraft hit the ground.
Road closures are in force and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
Emergency services provided no initial reports of any injuries.
