Lib Dem misery: ‘Dishonest’ Chuka Umunna sparks Twitter outrage with horror London tweet
The ex-Labour and Change UK politician was roundly mocked on the social media platform for his claims, with many hoping he loses his seat on December 12. It comes after each party launched their election manifestos ahead of the vote. Mr Ummuna shared a poll for the Observer which claimed the Lib Dems had experienced a 22 percent boost when it came to Cities of London voting intentions.
It showed that the Conservatives were now only six percentage points ahead of the Lib Dems.
Labour was down on 26 percent after experiencing a 12 percent slump.
The graphic was attached with the comment: “Cities of London & Westminster is a two horse race between the surging Liberal Democrats and Boris Johnson’s hard Brexit Conservative candidate.
“Labour are out of the race.
“To beat the Tories vote for me as the Remain choice.”
The tweet sent Twitter into meltdown with many poking fun at Mr Umunna.
One wrote: “You know what, you losing your seat, irrespective of the overall result, would be a joy to behold.”
Another said: “Vote for the man who changes his party and views to suit his career and end up with confusion.

“Worse choice ever.
“12 months ago Chuka said and I quote – who could ever vote for Lib Dems after AUSTERITY not me.”
A third simply wrote: “No chance, not sure which party you would represent next month.”
It comes after Andrew Marr savaged Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson’s terrible week on the election campaign.

He opened his interview her by saying it wasn’t “going very well” for Remainers.
Ms Swinson has endured a tough week after she was trounced during BBC Question Time on Friday night.
Mr Marr said that the show demonstrated that there was still a lot of anger towards the Liberal Democrats from “lefty-leaning, Remain-voters”.
He said: “It’s not gone terribly well has it?”
Ms Swinson responded: “Well, I’m enjoying the campaign. Clearly there has been a squeeze.”
She then blamed the “the stitch-up” between Nigel Farage and the Conservatives for the Liberal Democrats polling demise.
Ms Swinson added: “As things stand, Boris is on course to get a majority. If you look at the polls right now, that is what they say.
“But, the Lib Dems are the best chance to stop that.
“We need to make sure we win those seats from the Conservatives, and we have a better chance that Labour to do just that.”
