Lawless London: Three dead in just 12 hours
The victim was walking home with a friend after a restaurant meal on Thursday night.
Police believe 26-year-old Mohammed Abdullah Al Araimi, from Oman, was attacked by two robbers who fled after knifing him. He was found unconscious with a stab wound to his back and pronounced dead at the scene in Knightsbridge.
The friend was also stabbed and taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening.
Det Chief Insp Andy Partridge said: “It appears that the victims were approached by two males in order to steal property from them and were attacked during that encounter.”
The Oman Embassy in London tweeted to “extends its condolences to the family of the deceased”.
It added: “We are closely following up with British authorities to determine the circumstances.” The Harrods stabbings came hours after the cousin of a murder victim was hacked to death by a machete gang.
Exauce Ngimbi, 22, was killed in Hackney, east London, on Thursday afternoon.
Eight months ago his cousin Calvin Bungisa, also 22, was knifed to death. Detectives were last night questioning four suspects, including a 14-year-old boy.
Mr Ngimbi’s mother Théthé, 51, said during a vigil near the scene: “I want to see him, he was a good boy. It’s not fair.” The third victim, a drill rapper known as Bis, died after being stabbed repeatedly in a quiet residential road in Deptford, south-east London, in the early hours of yesterday. England footballer Jadon Sancho led tributes online.
The Borussia Dortmund winger tweeted: “Rest up bis,” with a picture of the victim, who detectives believe is 20-year-old Crosslom Davis. Scotland Yard detectives have now launched a total of 136 murder investigations this year, compared with 141 in 2018.
