Lady Louise Windsor was fortunate enough to grow up largely out of the public eye. Her parents Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, have said they tried to raise their children to lead a “normal” life. But with the shock exit of Meghan and Harry from the “firm”, the Wessex’s have had to step up their royal duties. What part could Lady Louise play in a future “slimmed down” monarchy?

What are her current titles and could these be changed?

With Lady Louise’s 18th birthday just around the corner, big changes could be in store for this young royal.

On November 8 she will turn 18 and will have to make a decision about her title.

Her birthday will mark a turning point in her life as she can choose to adopt the title “HRH”, which will likely fling her further into the limelight.

On the other hand, should she choose to keep a low profile, Lady Louise may decide to reject the title.

Royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “Lady Louise has kept a rather charming but low profile.”

He added: “Her parents, who have brought up her and her brother James, Viscount Severn, in as normal a way as possible, have intimated that she will choose a career of her own and that she will not use the HRH title she is entitled to use as a child of the son of the sovereign.”

Lady Louise has just completed her first year of A-Levels.

The young royal is studying English, History, Politics and Drama.

Her proud mother, Sophie, Countess of Wessex previously told the Sunday Times: “She’s working hard and will do A-levels.

“I hope she goes to university. I wouldn’t force her, but if she wants to. She’s quite clever.”

It seems Prince Charles intends to “slim down” the monarchy when he becomes king.

He had made it clear he only wishes to have the direct heirs to the throne and their immediate family dependent on the Sovereign Grant.

So Lady Louise may not be able to take on royal duties, even if she wants to.

Lady Louise is expected like her father Prince Edward, to work for a living following university.

As opposed to becoming a working member of the royal family.

The Countess of Wessex told The Sunday Times: “We try to educate them with the understanding that they will most likely have to work for a living.”

“That is why we made the decision not to use HRH titles.

“They have them and can decide to use them after 18, but I think it is very unlikely.”

Lady Louise Windsor is the youngest granddaughter of the Queen and is currently 15th in line to the throne.
