Labour supporter attacks OWN party saying it’s ‘time to get rid of Corbyn’ on BBC QT

The Labour leader has been in the spotlight this week after a leaked report stated that senior civil servants had speculated over Mr Corbyn’s ability to be Prime Minister. Reports had stated during the week that senior civil servants had insisted that Mr Corbyn was “too frail” to become Prime Minister while also questioning his health. Following those reports, one audience member asked on the programme if it was time for the party to replace the leader in order to defeat the Tories in the next general election.

Posing the question to the panel, the man said: “Is it time the Labour Party turned it’s back on Jeremy Corbyn?”

In a tough week for Labour a recent YouGov poll that stated that under Mr Corbyn, the Labour party had fallen to fourth in Westminster voting intentions.

Reported in The Times, the Brexit Party was registered at 23 percent, second behind the Tories at 24 followed by the Liberal Democrats on 20 percent and Labour coming fourth on 18 percent.

Such is the drop that it is the lowest rating the party has reached since 2009 under Gordon Brown.

Pressed on his opinion by Ms Bruce, the audience insisted that there will be a general election and that Boris Johnson will be the likely winner of the Tory leadership contest.

Shockingly for the Labour leader, the Labour supporter admitted that he “does not identify with him as a leader”.

He also added: “We need someone who can come up in a head to head with Boris and defeat him.”

Following the allegations from civil servants on Mr Corbyn, the Labour leader met with Cabinet Secretary, Sir Mark Sedwill to hold a “frank” meeting on Tuesday.

Mr Corbyn and Jon Trickett, the shadow Cabinet Office minister held a meeting with Sir Mark for 45 minutes following the allegations against the Labour leader.

A Labour spokesman admitted that the discussion was “frank and detailed, with a full exchange of views”.

They added: “Jeremy Corbyn and Jon Trickett pressed the case for a fully independent investigation to restore trust and confidence in the civil service.

“They were promised an independent element to the civil service investigation, that they will receive regular updates on its progress and that it would report as soon as possible.”
