King won’t strip Meghan of her royal title ‘even if she becomes President’

King Charles will not strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles – a special gift from Queen Elizabeth II no matter what happens in the future, according to a source close to the Palace.

Robert Jobson, who wrote a book called ‘Our King Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed’, has been told that even if Meghan became President, it’s “just not going to happen”.

When Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020, they initially wanted a half-in-half-out deal. But Queen Elizabeth II would only give them the option of all-in or nothing.

The couple chose the latter and were able to retain their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles but were no longer addressed as His/Her Royal Highness.

In 2021, the monarch stripped the Sussexes of their honorary royal patronages and military appointments.

Following the Queen’s death in September last year, many wondered how King Charles would handle his youngest son who continued airing out the family’s dirty laundry in public.

But Jobson revealed: “I was at Royal Ascot the other day and I met a source, who is quite close to the Royal Family. I said, ‘Well, what about all this stuff about stripping titles?’

“If you’re going to have a President Meghan, then surely, they’re not going to want to have their royal titles and they will be kicked out of the line succession?’ I asked.

“And he absolutely categorically said, that’s just not going to happen.

“So even though they’ve got their royal titles and people demanded they get rid of them, they’re going to lose that. The reality is there’s no point, they say, in changing that.

“It’s just going to rock everybody and create a story that will shake the Hornet’s Nest again. And as a result, it’s not going to achieve anything.

“It’s definitely very unlikely that Harry will ever be King, so why play a problem?”

At the end of last year, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan were being evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

While Charles has taken away the pair’s UK home, there may be something the King doesn’t want to strip Harry of his title because it was gifted to him by the late Queen.

Harry and Meghan have had their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles since the day they were married when they received them from Queen Elizabeth.
