King snubs grandchildren of late Queen’s cousins from Coronation

King Charles III has not invited the grandchildren of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s cousins to his Coronation this weekend. Some of those not invited include Lady Amelia Windsor and the King’s godson Lord Nicholas Windsor. A friend of one of those not invited has said they “can’t understand” the King’s decision – particularly as they’ve “been invited to every other state occasion”.

The friend, in reference to Prince Harry’s attacks on the Royal Family, told The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: “They have never put a foot wrong and been the souls of discretion, yet have been cast out. It’s not right.”

Zenouska Mowatt, who is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Princess Alexandra, has – like Lady Amelia and Lord Nicholas – not been invited.

Zenouska said: “I’m not going to the Coronation, but I’m really looking forward to watching it [on television].”

At the Trooping The Colour event in 2019, Zenouska – who was close to the late Queen – secured a spot on the balcony.

On the balcony, she appeared alongside Meghan Markle – who was returning to royal duty after the birth of Prince Archie.

The 32-year-old shared a close bond with Queen Elizabeth II, with the late monarch even wanting a pictured posed with her just six months before her death.

At the event, which was held last March at Windsor Castle, the late Queen was inspecting a collection of china made by the Royal Warrant-holding luxury goods business Halcyon Days – and Zenouska acted as Head of Marketing.

Zenouska has spoken fonding of the event, describing it as “really lovely” and the late Queen as a “very kind individual”.

She added that she is not resentful about not receiving an invite to the King’s Coronation,

Although she was not invited, Zenouska said her mother, Marina Mowatt and her grandmother have been invited.

Lady Amelia Windsor, 27, was previously dubbed the ‘most beautiful member of the Royal Family’ by Tatler Magazine. She is the granddaughter of the Duke of Kent.

It has previously been reported that the King also left some of the dukes off of the guestlist.

Some of the royals dukes, including the Duke of Rutland and the Duke of Somerset, did not receive invites.

One Duke who will be attending is the Duke of Norfolk, Edward Fitzalan-Howard – who is also known as the Earl Marshal.
