King Charles’s ‘strict demand’ of Prince Harry for any hope of an olive branch
Prince Harry on ‘healing journey’ as he promotes Invictus Games
King Charles will ask one thing of Prince Harry if they end up meeting after the Duke travels to the Invictus Games in Germany later this year, according to an insider.
Following the release of Meghan Markle and Harry’s Netflix docuseries and the Duke’s tell-all memoir Spare, commentators say relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the Firm have become tense.
However, there appears to be hope of reconciliation between King Charles and Prince Harry with one source reporting that the two could meet just after the Invictus Games on September 17.
“King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf,” a “well placed” source told OK!
That source told the magazine that the details of the London meeting were already being arranged but that any reconciliation would be conditional on one demand from King Charles.

The source said: “The King loves his son very much. He will always be there for him but draws the line at public slanging matches.
“If the talks take place, the King will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward.”
The source added that although the father and son would meet, it is “highly unlikely” that Meghan Markle would join them. The Duchess of Sussex is set to attend the Invictus Games with Harry, however.
Tensions have been high since Meghan and Harry stepped away from their Royal duties in a 2020 split dubbed Megxit.

However, tensions re-emerged following the release of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare and the interviews the Duke gave surrounding its publication.
Although Charles was spared some of the criticism levelled at the royal institution in Harry’s tell-all memoir, the Duke described fears he had about Queen Camilla.
He wrote: “I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.”
Now, the father and son appear to be taking the first step to patch up their relationship on what could be the road to reconciliation.
