King Charles’s desperate plea as Prince William used ‘secret code’ over Harry
Prince Harry speaks at Invictus Games closing ceremony
Since Prince Harry stepped back as a senior member of the Royal Family in 2020, many stories have emerged of his ongoing war with his brother Prince William.
One tense reunion came during the funeral of Prince Philip. Just weeks after Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, it caused a major rift.
In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry said he met with his father and brother after the funeral to discuss their issues. Harry said he felt “cut off” when explaining his feelings and a fight began between him and Prince William.
The Duke of Sussex claims the King begged his sons not to fight, saying: “Please, boys – don’t make my final years a misery.”
He also said he was “stopped cold” when the Prince of Wales used their secret code for “times of extreme crisis”.

William had forced his brother to look in his eyes to tell Harry that he loved him. Prince Harry says he told his brother he loved him too but his “stubbornness is extraordinary”.
The Prince of Wales pulled him back and said: “Harold you must listen to me, I just want you to be happy, Harold, I swear, I swear on mummy’s life.”
Harry wrote in Spare: “It stopped me cold, as it was meant to. Not because he’d used it, but because it didn’t work. I simply didn’t believe him.”

Other claims from the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell book include his father King Charles not hugging him after the death of his mother and his stepmother Queen Camilla “sacrificing” him for good PR.
But there have been reports recently that the King is looking to end the feud between the Royal Family and Harry for “strategic” reasons as it is not “sustainable” for them to remain on bad terms.
A former Palace staffer told the Daily Beast: “Ultimately Charles has not just a personal but also a strategic need to resolve the issue.”
