King Charles’s bizarre morning routine including outrageous shoelace request
King Charles has a very particular morning routine, according to reports, with one request to his staff which will likely sound very bizarre to a normal Brit.
According to Princess Diana’s former royal butler Paul Burrell, the King has “everything done for him”.
Speaking on a past documentary, titled Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm – which aired on Amazon Prime – Mr Burrell claims that the royal will even make sure “his shoelaces are pressed flat with an iron” by one of his staff members.
On the documentary, he said: “His pyjamas are pressed every morning, his shoelaces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid.”
Mr Burrell added that the-then Prince Charles even “has his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning.”

As well as the water temperature in his bath, the former butler said that the King also requests the bath to be “only half full”.
The monarch also has a few dietary requests, with him opting for a very healthy breakfast.
Chef Graham Newbould, a former member of the royal staff, previously said: “Prince Charles has a healthier option. He’d have homemade bread, a bowl of fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices.”
According to Mr Newbould, the King also reportedly takes his luxury “breakfast box” with him wherever he goes.

An insider also previously told MyLondon that the King enjoy an after-dinner snack of cheese and biscuits.
This request also doesn’t come without demands, as the monarch enjoys these warmed to a certain temperature.
According the the Amazon Prime documentary, the monarch previously earned himself the title of ‘Pampered Prince’ among staff at his residence of Clarence House.

The demands also do not end at home – with the monarch also having strict travel demands too.
It has previously been reported that he takes his own toilet seat and loo roll on trips.
Journalist Tina Brown, who was good friends with Princess Diana, wrote in her book The Palace Papers that the King allegedly sends a van of his possessions to his friends’ country houses the day before he’s due to stay to unload his “bed, furniture and even pictures”.
This includes his orthopaedic bed, lavatory seat and Kleenex Velvet lavatory paper.
