King Charles’s birthday pic became ‘absolute nightmare’ due to Harry and William
Prince William and Prince Harry reportedly turned King Charles’s official 70th birthday photo into an “absolute nightmare”.
In November 2018, Clarence House released a rare family photograph in honour of the King’s milestone birthday.
In the picture, the now-monarch was surrounded by his closest family members, including wife Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
While fans love the rare family shots, it was reportedly a “nightmare” to arrange as both William and Harry made very little effort in making sure the shoot actually happened, a book claims.
According to the Sussexes unofficial biography Finding Freedom, both William and Harry “can be hot and cold with their father”.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote: “The boys can be hot and cold with their father’ disclosed a source, who gave the example of planning the photo session for Charles’ 70th birthday, which they called ‘an absolute nightmare’.
“Neither William nor Harry made much of an effort to make themselves available, the source said.”
Two photographs taken on the day were released to the public, one more formal and one of the family laughing.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, missed out on the photograph as they had not yet been born.

Since the day the photographs were taken, both William and Harry have gone on to experience very different relationships with their father.
Although known to have had some tensions in the past, William is now said to have a relationship with the King “built on love, affection and respect”.
He even pledged his allegiance to his father at his Coronation ceremony back in May.
Harry and Meghan made the decision to step down as senior royals at the start of 2020, with the pair moving to the US soon after.
