King Charles to meet with Prince Harry for ‘peace talks’ without Meghan
Harry and Meghan: King Charles will ‘pass’ on series says expert
Prince Harry could meet with King Charles for peace talks in London next month, however Harry’s wife Meghan Markle is not expected to attend, according to a royal source.
Following the end of the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany on September 16, Harry is due to fly back to California via London, around the time the Royal Family is expected to return from Balmoral.
The King’s rescheduled trip to France is not due to depart until September 20, meaning the pair could both be in the city for September 17, and royal staff are reportedly planning for them to meet.
A royal source told OK!: “King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties in with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Düsseldorf.
“The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak.”
If they do meet it will be the first time Harry has had a face-to-face conversation with a member of the Firm since the publication of his memoir Spare, which made damning allegations against his family.
While he did travel to London briefly to attend the King’s Coronation in May, neither Meghan nor their children accompanied him and he flew back to the US as soon as the ceremony wrapped.
Meghan will not be going to London this time but she will be attending the Invictus Games with Harry, where they will both take part in the closing ceremony.
