Kay Burley forced to apologise after Labour MP SWEARS on live TV during debate on Trump

Kay Burley apologised to Sky News viewers after a Labour MP swore live on air, during a debate on Donald Trump’s state visit. Stephen Doughty swore while repeating a remark previously made by the US President. During a debate with Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Labour MP for Cardiff South and Penarth said: “Allies and best friends should be frank and speak the truth, and this President is a liar, he’s a racist, he’s sexist. He said it was fine to grab women by their p****, he’s offended the LGBT community, he wanted to ban all Muslims from entering the United States.

“He said that Africa was full of s******* countries, this is a President who’s bene quite able to use those offensive words that Jacob talks about.

“This isn’t about student union politics, this is about drawing lines and we should of course be having Government to Government contact but we have chosen to honour him in this way. I think that’s wrong.

“Most American presidents haven’t been offered a state visit and he’s had the red carpet rolled out for him despite quite frankly being offensive not only to British values but also American values.”

Ms Burley replied: “You said those were offensive and yet you still used them.”

Mr Doughty interjected: “Of course, quoting.”

The Sky News presenter apologised: “I’m sorry for anybody that is listening, I’m very sorry about that.”

Mr Rees-Mogg clashed with Labour MP Stephen Doughty over President Trump’s state visit.

The Tory backbencher said it was only right he was given a state visit and Mr Trump is an “extraordinarily welcome” visitor.

Meanwhile, Mr Doughty argued policies and comments the US President made in the past about a range of issues made him unwelcome.

In the debate on Sky News, Mr Doughty said: “The reality is this is a day of embarrassment for Britain.”

Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall recently greeted Mr and Mrs Trump at Clarence House.

The Trumps were received by the Prince of Wales and Camilla outside the garden gate.

The four will now enjoy afternoon tea.
