Kate’s sweet nod to Princess Diana at Trump state banquet hosted by the Queen REVEALED
Kate dazzled in Lover’s Knot tiara, a favourite of Princess Diana’s, as she and William pulled up to Buckingham Palace in a dark car. The Duke of Cambridge was behind the wheel as Kate sat in the passenger seat. The Duchess paired the tiara with a stunning pair of drop earrings, which were loaned to Kate by the Queen. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a gorgeous white dress by Alexander McQueen – who made Kate’s wedding dress in 2011 – which was adorned with Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II and The Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
The US President arrived in the UK earlier today with his wife Melania and the pair were welcomed by the Queen, Prince Charles and his Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall as well as Prince Andrew and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Tonight will be the first time Kate meets President Trump.
Kate and William were noticeably absent as Mr Trump inspected Grenadier Guards.
President Trump and Melania then had lunch with the Queen and were shown around a collection of items with significance for US relations before a tour of Westminster Abbey.
Prince Harry joined for the lunch as he was seen entering the private event with Ivanka Trump.
Meghan Markle is on maternity leave after giving birth to her son Archie last month and is not expected to attend any of the events during President Trump’s visit.
