After James’s marriage ceremony over the weekend, one commentator commented on the lack of photos from the event. Indeed, while there was a lack of pictures from James’s wedding, royal expert Daniela Elser claimed the Sussexes have struggled with the continued attention despite departing the Royal Family. Commenting on the event, Ms Elser revealed the “cruel irony” surrounding Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s situation.
Writing for News Australia, Ms Elser said: “Crushingly, no pictures have emerged so far of the Cambridges celebrating the big day en famille, thus denying us the sheer bliss of a seeing Kate done up in an Emilia Wickstead-slash-Philip Treacy look that costs the same as a small car.
“Ditto the world has been denied seeing the couple’s three kidlets putting on an adorable page boy/flower girl display.
“It is highly unlikely, however, that any photos at all will emerge.
“James, like their sister Pippa, has always been the picture of discretion when it comes to his future-Queen sister and the Cambridges themselves only post about work or royal family-related events on their social media channels. Hashtag sad.
“However, what is more interesting here is the paparazzi situation, which is to say, there has not been one.
“Not a single image has emerged of William and Kate either flying to France or on French soil which is a far, far cry from the days when Fleet Street and photo agencies’ most rapacious and relentless snappers doggedly trailed anyone with an HRH.
“And there is a certain cruel irony here when you contrast this state of play with the reality that Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, now face, having traded royal working life for ‘peace’ in the US, far, far away from the long arm of the courtiers and the British press they dislike so intensely.”
Kate and William travelled to the south of France to celebrate James’s wedding to Alizee Thevenet.

The couple were wed in the village of Bormes-les-Mimosas on Saturday.
James, 34, said on Instagram: “Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs.”
The couple were engaged in September 2019 but had to delay the ceremony due to the pandemic.
The couple met in 2018 and were joined by his other sister Pippa, and her businessman husband James Matthews.

Their parents Carole and Michael Middleton, and James’s beloved dogs, Luna and Mabel were also present.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, James revealed how he had met his future wife three years ago.
He said his dog, Ella had made “a beeline” for his now wife in the South Kensington Club in Chelsea.
He said: “The two of us Ella and me were at the South Kensington Club in Chelsea.
“Ella was lying at my feet under the table; realising she might want some water, I trusted her to take herself over to the water bowl across the terrace.
“However, she made a beeline for Alizée. Rather embarrassed, I went over to apologise and bring Ella back.
“But Alizée thought I was the waiter and ordered her drink while continuing to stroke Ella, who at this point was on her back lapping up the attention.
“Little did I know, but I had just met my future wife, all thanks to Ella.
“If I hadn’t trusted Ella, I wouldn’t have brought her to the South Kensington Club and she wouldn’t have been able to say hi to the woman who became my fiancée.”
