Kate spotted taking tennis lessons at exclusive club in London – and she is ‘very good’

Kate was seen training with a private coach at the exclusive Hurlingham Club in Fulham, a club regular has claimed. They told the Mail on Sunday: “She’s really very good. She comes down and trains with her tennis coach with her security looming in the background.

“Sometimes they fetch her stray balls.”

This is not the first time an insider spots Kate at the Hurlingham Club, a private members club bordering the Thames which extends across 42 acres.

In August, a royal insider said the Duchess of Cambridge was making frequent trips to the club with her children, George, Charlotte and Louis.

A royal insider told Hello! magazine: “Kate has been at Hurlingham a lot over the summer.

“She takes all the kids.”

At the Hurlingham, George and Charlotte were also taking tennis lessons this summer, the source added.

They continued: “There’s a gorgeous playground they all love, and George and Charlotte have tennis lessons.”

The exclusivity of the club allows the Cambridges to enjoy their time out without disruption to their privacy.

The insider continued: “They all pile into the clubhouse afterwards for lunch or tea and they’re never bothered, they’re just like any normal family.

“They all seem to really love it there.”

The Hurlingham Club doesn’t offer memberships at the moment, which usually comes at £1,280 per person, and the waiting list for new members is closed and only subjected to annual review.

The club is a 25-minute drive from Kensington Palace and features more than 15 tennis courts, a fitness centre and a toddler zone, which makes the club a good hangout spot for the Cambridges.

Kate is known for loving tennis, a passion which found an outlet in her royal work in 2016, when she became patron of the All England Club.

The patronage was passed onto Kate from the Queen, who had been patron of Wimbledon since 1952.

Prince George is believed to have taken the passion for tennis after her mother.

Kate herself is believed to have spoken about her son is a huge admirer of Roger Federer while speaking to British Fed Cup captain Anne Keothavong.

And, Ms Keothavong added, the tennis star has even given the little Cambridge a crash course at the Cambridges’ court at Kate and William’s home in Norfolk.

Ms Keothavong, who was what sitting next to the royal during a match at this year’s Championship, said: “What a special day — and Kate is such a good ambassador for tennis.

“She comes to Wimbledon every year, she really likes tennis, she was talking about George, apparently.

“George’s favourite tennis player is Roger Federer, and he’s actually got to play with him.

“The whole family loves tennis, and George is apparently quite a good player.”

Federer is a long-time friend of both the Cambridges and the Middletons and is believed to have been invited as guest at Prince William and Kate’s Norfolk estate.

In 2017, Federer, eight-time champion at Wimbledon, was invited to the wedding of James Matthews and Pippa Middleton.
