The Prince and Princess of Wales’ family wished a happy Mother’s Day to Britons. Taking to their official Twitter account, Kate and Prince William shared two never-before-seen adorable pictures showing the royal mum surrounded by her adorable and smiling children.

In the first photo taken by Matt Porteous, Kate can be seen smiling widely in a white blouse, blue trousers, cropped denim jeans and white trainers while perched on tree branches.

Prince Louis and Prince George are sitting on her sides, while Princess Charlotte is perched slightly further away.

The snap was accompanied by a red heart emoji and a message, which read: “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours”.

A second picture by the same photographer was added in response to the first tweet, and shows Kate with a loving smile on her face while playing with her younger son in her arms.

These pictures perfectly represent Kate’s hands-on approach with her children as well as her conviction that spending time outdoors boosts the mental and physical wellbeing of both children and adults.

Royal fans hugely appreciated Kate and William’s decision to share these snaps with the public.

Twitter user @RNHCJ522 commented on the snaps saying: “I couldn’t love Catherine more. Such beauty, grace and the epitome of class! What a future queen she is.”

Another, @sarah_delore, tweeted: “Thank you for these beautiful photos, I was hoping to see something like this for Mothers Day!!”

And @sirlewislady wrote: “These photos are beyond precious, thank you for sharing them! Happy Mother’s Day”.

The Wales family’s tweet comes a few hours after the Royal Family Twitter account, which represents all the other senior royals including King Charles and Queen Camilla, marked the first Mother’s Day since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The poignant message shared overnight celebrated the mothers of both King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The tweet read: “To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #MothersDay.”

The message was accompanied by a picture of a young Princess Elizabeth holding on her legs King Charles as a child.

A separate photo showed Camilla smiling while standing behind her mum, Rosalind Shand.
