The Duchess will be staying in Windsor to support her children as they have their first full day in their new school today, Kensington Palace said. 

Prince William, along with heir to the throne Prince Charles, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Andrew have all reportedly raced to Balmoral following concerns around the Queen’s health. 

Prince Harry and Meghan have also reportedly rushed to Balmoral, cancelling a charity event they were due to attend.

Buckingham Palace announced today that the Queen, 96, who is known to have ongoing mobility issues, has been placed under medical supervision at Balmoral, adding that while she is “comfortable”, doctors are “concerned”.

Kensington Palace said: “The Duchess of Cambridge has remained in Windsor as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are on their first full day at their new school.”

Buckingham Palace’s full statement, released around 12.30pm, read: “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

Kate and William moved to their new home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor last Saturday, September 3.

They moved to the four-bed cottage to be closer to their children’s new school in Ascot, ready for when term started this week.

The new school run to the £7,000 a term Lambrook School in Berkshire is just nine miles from their new home.

The school has 52 acres of grounds, and will cost the couple £50,000 a year in total.

Princes George, nine and Louis, four and Princess Charlotte, seven started there this week after switching from St Thomas’s School in Battersea.

Today is their first full day at the school.

In photographs released from the family arriving, the Cambridge siblings looked confident and happy as they arrived ready for a 90-minute settling-in session for new pupils and their families.

A source close to the couple told the Daily Mail: “As they got out of the car, they were just giddy with excitement.

“It was just so sweet to see. Not a nerve in sight.

“It was all so relaxed. They are wonderful kids.”

Prince William and Kate were pictured walking the children to the school this morning, all seemingly in high spirits. 

William called his children “all the gang” as he ushered them up the steps of the large white 19th-century country mansion.

Meanwhile Prince George, Charlotte and Louis all said they are “excited” to be starting.
