The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hired Hannah Cockburn-Logie OBE earlier in June. Former royal private secretaries have recently been taking very important roles in government and other areas.

Hannah Cockburn-Logie, despite her short tenure as private secretary, has recently been appointed as the director of the Cambridge’s Royal Foundation.

This is in addition to her responsibilities like organising Kate’s diary and meetings, as well as accompanying her on engagements once lockdown ends.

The news of her appointment comes from her LinkedIn profile, and was confirmed from the government’s Companies House.

She had an existing relationship with the royals, as she arranged and accompanied the couple on their seven day tour in India and Bhutan in April 2016.

Previously Cockburn-Logie had worked as a Political and Engagement Counsellor for the UK Permanent Representation to the EU.

She held this position for a year and nine months, and was stationed in Brussels, Belgium.

She has also done some work with the UK government, holding the position of Head of Political and Bilateral Relations for the British High Commission in India.

She departed this role in 2018, after four years and 3 months.

   

The Royal Foundation is a charitable endeavour set up by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It was established in 2009 to let William and Harry move forward with their charities.

It was reported at the start of June that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had split with the foundation, with the former Duke of Sussex merging his Endeavour Fund and the Invictus Games.

Harry and Meghan are also set to launch their own organisation Archewell in the coming months, the trademark of which has been rejected.

It comes after Kate’s former private secretary Catherine Quinn departed her role six months ago.

She had held the position for two years, before moving onto other roles and challenges.

Sources told English at the time of Quinn’s departure:”Catherine is a thoroughly lovely lady and has achieved a lot working for the duchess.

“But she simply wants to take a step back and focus again on her charity work.

“They are parting on the best of terms.”

Prince William’s former private secretary, Simon Case, departed the Cambridge royals last month.

He was drafted in to assist the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “Simon is working on the coronavirus response in No 10 as a permanent secretary.

“Simon is with us temporarily from the Royal household.

“He is specifically co-ordinating the coronavirus response.

“Coronavirus is obviously a very significant piece of cross-Government work.”
