Kate Middleton, 39, is known to love baking cakes and cooking for the Cambridges. The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed to making homemade pizza, curry and cakes.

During her appearance on Mary Berry’s ‘A Berry Royal Christmas’, Kate explained how she bakes her three children their birthday cakes.

But the Duchess stays up rather late to maintain the family tradition.

The mother-of-three said: “I love making the cake.

“It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up ‘til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much.

“But I love it.”

The Duchess also told Mary Berry, 86, young Prince Louis, three, would “definitely” recognise the former Great British Bake Off judge.

She said: “One of Louis’ first words was ‘Mary’ because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf.”

Kate added: “And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say ‘that’s Mary Berry’.

“He would definitely recognise you if he saw you today.”

But Ms Berry also complimented the Duchess on her baking capabilities.

The veteran baker said: “I remember we were down at the RHS at Wisley and she was bringing her garden from Chelsea, the children’s garden and play centre.

“She was piping cupcakes and they were just… if not better than mine, they were beautiful and she was laughing away and enjoying it.”
