Kate Middleton to debut ‘statement’ Coronation gown

Kate Middleton discusses Princess Diana’s engagement ring

Kate, the Princess of Wales, will show off a “statement look” at King Charles’ Coronation this weekend.

The Duchess of Cornwall herself previously hinted that her dress will have a “hint of blue”, but has stayed mum on what her latest garb will be.

Now, Kate was tipped by a royal fashion expert to “shake things up” with her gown at the historic event.

Josh Birch Jones, the youngest member of the British Fashion Council, also described it the royal’s fashion as having a “classic, yet personal style”.

Speaking to Page Six Style, he said: “All eyes will be focused on the Princess of Wales, who will inevitably attract attention with her classic, yet personal style approach.

“Kate’s new title holds much responsibility, meaning that her participation during the coronation will be heavily watched, so a statement look is called for.”

Jones also predicted Kate will opt for a coat dress by British designer Catherine Walker, with the royal having previously been snapped in the pricey pieces.

At the Royal Family’s Easter Service, Kate was seen in one of Walker’s coat dresses.

On Wednesday, Kate, Charles, Prince William and other royals were seen arriving at Westminster Abbey for Coronation rehearsals.

William was snapped with his youngest son Prince Louis in a car going to and from the venue, while the Wales family were all photographed smiling as they entered the building.

Kate and Princess Charlotte both opted for floral dresses for the rehearsal, with the Princess of Wales wearing a black and white ensemble, and her daughter wearing a blue sundress with a white sweater.

It comes after Kate and William stunned royal fans as they joined commuters on the Elizabeth line in London.

The royals then hopped off at Soho and joined members of the Dog & Duck pub team to hear how they are preparing ahead of King Charles’s Coronation and the upcoming bank holiday weekend.

Outside of the historic pub, the pair were welcomed by a huge crowd of cheering fans, to which the Prince and Princess happily smiled and waved.
