Kate Middleton shock: The clumsy truth behind elegant and poised Duchess

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William have joined forces with TV chef Mary Berry for a special Christmas cooking programme. A Berry Royal Christmas airs on BBC One at 8.30pm tonight and is jam-packed with fascinating royal revelations.

From revealing Wills wooed her with his culinary skills to spilling on the meals she most likes to cook with her children, Kate made another surprising admission.

While Kate comes across as unshakeable, calm and collected, the royal has revealed she has a clumsy side.

Speaking while preparing non-alcoholic cocktails on the programme Kate said: “This is where you’ve got to make sure you’ve put the lid on it before you shake it.

“I did this with a spinach soup once, and forgot to put the lid on it. I ended up with spinach soup on the ceiling.”

In the programme, Kate and Wills help Mary her prepare festive treats for charity employees and volunteers working over Christmas as a way of saying thanks.

According to Mary Berry, the special show was all Prince William’s idea.

Speaking in the programme Kate lets slip Wills impressed her by cooking delicious meals when they first began dating.

She said: “In university days he used to cook all sorts of meals”

“I think that’s when he was trying to impress me, Mary! Things like Bolognese sauce, and things like that.”

Asked if Wills still lends a hand in the kitchen, Kate says he sometimes whips up a brilliant breakfast.

She added: “He sometimes does actually – he’s very good at breakfast.”

Prince William, however, was keen to play down his skills while chatting to Mary and said the kitchen was Kate’s realm.

He said: “I can do tea, Mary, but not cooking. Catherine is definitely the one who cooks, not me.”
