Kate Middleton received a 'nod' from sister Pippa says expert

Earlier this week it was announced that Pippa has given birth to her second child, Grace Elizabeth Jane Matthews. During the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal experts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito discussed the subtle tribute to the Duchess of Cambridge within the baby’s name. 

Ms Bowie said: “That was a really happy surprise to hear, her second child, a daughter, Grace Elizabeth Jane.

“I love that name, I feel like it is modern but also kind of regal, Elizabeth feels…”

Ms Fiortio interjected: “And it is Kate’s middle name.

“I believe it is most likely a nod to her sister.

“People are also saying it is a nod to Queen Elizabeth II but it is more about Kate I think.”

She added: “Kate and William are said to be overjoyed at the news.

“I also think of the dichotomy of Harry and Meghan expecting and they are also having a girl.

“There is that parallel going on.”

The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle’s relationship was at the centre of the Sussex’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month.

The Duchess of Sussex stated that Kate made her cry in the days prior to her wedding to Prince Harry.

It had been widely reported that Meghan Markle had made Kate cry regarding a dispute over Princess Charlotte’s outfit.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Prince William will “hate” the fact his wife has been dragged into the saga surrounding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s time in the Royal Family.

Ms Nicholl said: “William is devastated by this interview.

“Don’t forget that the Duchess of Cambridge has been dragged into this whole saga, William will hate that.”

She added: “From the huge repercussions that this incident has had, any healing is going to take a very long time.

“I think what feels so sad is that he [Prince Harry] was just getting family relations back on track.

“He was not speaking to his brother for a long time, they were back in touch.”
