In the wake of Prince William’s recent solo 24-hour trip to the United Arab Emirates the Duchess of Cambridge is preparing for her own trip. The Duchess will be travelling to Denmark for two days arriving in Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Her trip will offer an opportunity to develop further friendly ties between Denmark and the UK.

Her trip to Denmark will also include a range of activities to highlight her commitment to early childhood development after she launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021.

According to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, the trip will be “one of her most important events as a royal yet.”

She added: “Upon her return to Denmark next week, Kate will seek to promote an issue that’s not only close to her heart, but one she considers vital to the health, wellbeing and happiness of our society

“In recognising there’s no one size fits all, nor room for shortcuts or quick fixes, she’s proven once again that a slow and steady approach ultimately wins the race.”

In a video message recorded last year to coincide with the publication of the Foundation’s Big Change Starts Small she reaffirmed her commitment to child development.

She said: “My own journey into understanding the importance of early childhood actually started with adults, and not with children.

“It was about prevention. I’ve spoken to psychiatrists and neuroscientists, to practitioners and academics and parents alike. 

“And what has become clear is that the best investment for our future health and happiness is in the first five years of life.”

In a statement Kensington Palace said that the Duchess will visit projects that offer a holistic approach to child development.

They said: “Her programme will focus on innovative initiatives and projects which support children in their growth.

“Particularly their social and emotional development. As well as their parents and the wider communities surrounding them. 

Kensington Palace also said the Duchess will spend time discovering how Denmark has “created an enabling culture for early childhood development.”
