Kate Middleton news: How protective Wills and Kate leapt to defend Princess Charlotte
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 37, and Prince William, 37, are the proud parents of three royal tots – Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one. When Princess Charlotte joined her big brother George at primary school in Battersea this autumn, photos of her being greeted at the gates and shaking hands with the headmistress made royal fans swoon.
Prince William and Kate were there to drop off Princess Charlotte and Prince George on the special occasion and the four of them together were an adorable sight.
However, one radio DJ saw fit to make a joke out of Charlotte shaking hands with the headmistress on her first day of school.
Protective parents Kate and Wills have reportedly confronted him about it since.
BBC Breakfast DJ Greg James recounted the embarrassing the incident.

He told the Mirror: “I saw the photo during the show and said, ‘Who the hell shakes hands with their teacher on the first day?’”
Mr James claimed he had no idea his comment would cause upset but was confronted about it weeks later when he visited Kensington Palace for a Radio 1 Teen Heroes event.
According to Mr James, Prince William and Kate said: “We were listening on the morning of little Charlotte’s first day, and we want to talk to you about the handshaking thing…”
Mr James said he was mortified they heard his comment and replied: “Oh God, no!”
He added: “They’d heard me saying this school was so posh they had to shake hands with their teacher every day.
“They were not like that in my day.
“You were pleased if you got a smile.”
Asked how things ended between him and the royals, Mr James said: “I’m sure it’s all absolutely fine.”

Future King and Queen Consort Prince William and Kate have had a busy time of late with several royal engagements.
The couple attended the Royal Variety Performance together on Monday evening.
However, Kate had to pull out of a Tusk Awards charity gala last minute on Thursday “due to the children.”
The diligent Duchess was keen not to shirk royal duty and held an impromptu tea for Tusk Awards finalists at Kensington Palace on Thursday afternoon.
A Kensington Palace spokeswoman confirmed the Duchesses cancellation, she said: “The Duchess is no longer able to attend the Tusk awards due to the children.
“She will still, however, meet finalists at a tea at Kensington Palace this afternoon. The Duke as patron will attend both.”
While it is widely believed the mother-of-three pulled out because of childcare issues, this did not stop royal fans from speculating Kate may be pregnant.
Odds on Kate and Wills announcing a pregnancy towards the end of the year have been slashed amid mounting pregnancy speculation.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes currently have the Duchess of Cambridge at 4/1 to announce baby news before the year is over.
