Kate Middleton isolating after coming into contact with Covid case
Kate Middleton is self-isolating at home after coming into contact with someone who later tested positive for coronavirus.
Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge has not had any symptoms but it is not yet known whether she has taken a test.
The duchess was due to attend two events today to mark the 73rd anniversary of the NHS but will now have to spend 10 days at home instead.
The Cambridges were expected to be joined by several hundred Covid frontline staff members, patients, and leading figures at a tribute service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London this morning.
They had then planned to host a Big Tea for NHS workers at Buckingham Palace in their roles as Joint Patrons of NHS Charities Together later this afternoon.
A Palace spokesperson said: ‘Last week The Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
‘Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.’
Kate was last spotted during a tour around Wimbledon’s grounds on Friday, before sitting with former tennis star Tim Henman to watch Jamie Murray play in the doubles.
