Kate is not allowed to walk her dog in Kensington Gardens according to a royal expert. Ingrid Seward, a royal biographer, said Prince Harry told her about the incident.

He said the Duchess was forced to walk her English Cocker Spaniel, Lupo, to a private field.

She said: “He was saying that Kate can’t even walk her dog in Kensington Gardens like Diana used to go jogging.

“She can only walk it around the sort of private field.

“He said it is definitely a prison and he was desperate to get out.”

The Duchess has also been spotted walking a golden retriever named Tilly.

She previously took the dog to Prince William’s charity polo match.

The Golden Retriever and the English Cocker Spaniel joined the Cambridges in their first official portrait of Prince George.

The news about the palace’s rules on dog walking comes after Prince William spoke on a podcast about his life during lockdown.

Speaking to the BBC’s That Peter Crouch, he said the Duchess has “super patience”, especially in regards to homeschooling.

Prince William said he found homeschooling “pretty testing” during lockdown.

He said: “I found it pretty testing, trying to keep the children engaged and interested in some sort of work.

“It’s been an interesting few months. I’ve learned my patience is a lot shorter than I thought it was.

“That’s probably the biggest eye-opener for me, and my wife has super patience.”

Prince William added that the coronavirus lockdown in the UK has caused him to pause and “revalue” what is important in life.

He said: “This period of time has allowed us to all revalue things.

“The thing about lockdown is that it has been a little bit of an awakening that we maybe take our lives a bit for granted sometimes and there’s a lot of things out there that can wobble all of us at any time.

“I think particularly now, as a parent, it starts to make you look a bit more to the future at what kind of world we are going to hand over to the next generation.

“There’s been a lot of time to think – and you can also have too much time to think, and that’s also what worries me.”

The Duke of Cambridge also revealed how he once bought an odd gift for the Duchess which she never let him forget.

He said: “I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once – she’s never let me forget that.”

He added: “Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars, it seemed like a good idea at the time.”

The Cambridges have been isolating in Anmer Hall, Norfolk, during lockdown.
