Kate Middleton family make touching tribute in ‘rare’ show of public ‘support’ for Duchess

The Middleton family broke from being “extremely” tight-lipped about the Duchess of Cambridge to make a “rare” show of public support. The comes after the royal took part in the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast to speak about a survey she had launched to ask people what matters for them in raising their children today. HeirPod host and ABC News Contributor Omid Scobie noted that Kate’s younger brother James and her mother Carole had used this as the “perfect time” to help her out.

Mr Scobie told listeners: “Today marks the end of her survey which she has been promoting and getting many people of the UK involved in.

“I think there have been well over 200,000 participants in this.

“We saw some support from her own family this week as well.

“James Middleton posted on Instagram, asking his followers if they haven’t already to fill out the very quick survey and get involved.”

He continued: “We also saw Carole Middleton share a post on the official Facebook page for her family business ‘Party Pieces’.

“It was great to see her family come together.

“It’s very rare we actually even see her family members mention Kate’s name in public.

“They’ve been extremely quiet for obvious reasons ever since she married into the Royal Family.”

The royal commentator added: “But I think this was the perfect time to really see them come forward and support her on what Kate says is her most important project.

“This is a lifelong project that will take her far into the future, certainly for the next decade.

“It’s going to be a heavy focus for her and it will be interesting to see when the results of this survey come out, what the next steps are.”

During the podcast discussion, the Duchess also revealed that she had done “hypnobirthing” to get through her first pregnancy with Prince George.

Kate has been open about suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, which causes severe vomiting, during her pregnancies.

Hypnobirthing is a method of pain management that can be used during labour and birth. It involves using a mixture of visualisation, relaxation and deep breathing techniques.

She told the podcast: “It was through hyperemesis that I really realised the power of the mind over the body.

“I really had to try anything and everything to get through it.”
