Kate looked effortlessly flawless as she arrived for a performance of Dear Evan Hansen at Noel Coward Theatre in aid of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Royal Foundation. Kate donned a dark Eponine dress dress for the occasion which highlighted her sliver glittery shoes and matching clutch for a rare date night out with her husband William.

Dear Evan Hansen is an award-winning musical that tells the story of teen Evan Hansen who has social anxiety.

Inside the theatre’s foyer, William and Kate chatted about the mental health theme to the play’s author, Steven Levenson, and composers Justin Paul and Benj Pasek.

William asked: “Ten years ago, do you think this play would have been here?”

Mr Pasek replied: “I don’t think it would have even existed.”

Tonight’s performance raises money for their Royal Foundation, which includes initiatives for mental health, young children and mothers.

Kensington Palace spoke about the musical’s significance to the couple as they announced the event on Twitter last week, saying: “Mental health is a key priority for The Royal Foundation, which has developed initiatives such as @giveusashout and @heads_together.”

The musical’s West End account tweeted before Kate and William’s arrival: “Tonight we are delighted to host The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for a special charity performance in aid of The Royal Foundation.”

Kate and William’s three children Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one, are understood have remained at home in Kensington Palace.

Both George and Charlotte returned to their school Thomas’s Battersea, in south London, this week after the half-term break.

Kate and William cleared their schedules to spend time with their children where they spent time outdoors.

Kate and William will tour of Ireland next week at the request of the Government.
