Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 39, and Prince William, 39, are understood to have left London with their children Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, for the summer holidays. The family usually spend the break at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall.

George will celebrate his eighth birthday on July 22 and now lockdown has been officially lifted he could have a proper party to celebrate.

It wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without a cake and keen home cook Kate could get Charlotte and Louis to help her with George’s sweet treat.

The young royal is known to be a huge football fan and joined his parents for two of Euro 2020 the England games at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.

While the Three Lions didn’t bring it home this time, George still may wish for a football-themed cake and Louis and Charlotte could lend Kate a hand when it comes to the baking.

The Duchess has previously spoken about cooking with her children on several occasions.

From making fresh pasta to preparing pizzas and little Louis’s love of star baker Mary Berry, it seems the young Cambridges have inherited their mother’s love of home cooking.

Aside from the cake, Kate may have asked her mother Carole Middleton for help with other party preparations.

Carole is a whizz at children’s parties and has her own business Party Pieces which focuses on just that.

July 19 was Freedom Day in England marking an official end to most lockdown restrictions meaning there is no longer a limit on how many people can gather at once.

This means George could celebrate his milestone with family and school friends at Anmer Hall.

Carole regularly shares children’s party ideas via Party Piece’s Instagram page and recent posts may hint at the kind of party George might have.

Kate’s parents live in Berkshire and are likely to join the Cambridges on George’s birthday.

Earlier this month Kate’s father Michael Middleton joined her for the final day of Wimbledon tennis tournament.

Kate is extremely close with both her parents who have lent a hand with child care over the years.

Now that lockdown in England is officially over the family will be happy to be reunited again.
