Kate Middleton at Wimbledon: What has Kate Middleton worn at Wimbledon 2019?
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge is a keen tennis fan and has attended the worldwide famous tennis tournament Wimbledon for many years, both as a working royal and before she married Prince William in 2011. The 37-year-old became the Patron of the All England Club in 2017, after Queen Elizabeth II resigned from the post after her 90th birthday in 2016. Part of her official duties as the patron is to represent the Royal Family at the sporting event, which means she often visits during the course of the tournament. But what has the future Queen consort chosen to wear at Wimbledon this year?
The Duchess of Cambridge first attended the tournament alone on July 2, the second day of the tournament.
Channelling the Wimbledon players’ dress code, she wore a white shirtdress accented with black buttons by Suzannah and a black bow belt by Alexander McQueen.
Kate also added a basket box bag, black pumps and her trusted black Ray-Ban sunglasses to complete the look.
Kate next attended Wimbledon yesterday, July 13.
She attended alongside her sister Pippa Middleton as well as sister-in-law Meghan Markle, who was there to cheer on her friend Serena Williams.
The two duchesses first attended Wimbledon together last year and yesterday they repeated the tradition.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a chic green Dolce & Gabbana dress with gold buttons and puff sleeves.
She had previously worn the dress during a royal tour to Canada with Prince William in 2016.
Meanwhile the Duchess of Sussex wore a white pleated skirt with blue accent by Hugo Boss and a white Givenchy shirt.
Pippa Middleton wore a blue and white floral dress with ruffled sleeves.
Kate attended the gentleman’s final match at Wimbledon with her husband Prince William today.
It was the first time this year the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the tournament together to watch Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic compete to be crowned the Men’s Singles winner of Wimbledon 2019.
Kate today wore a Cinderella baby blue custom-design summer dress by Emilia Wickstead.
Prince William’s choice of outfit appeared to be coordinated with his wife.
The Duke of Cambridge sported a grey suit with a light blue shirt and blue tie, complementing the shade of his wife’s dress.
With all of these dresses, the Duchess of Cambridge affixed a purple and green bow.
Many royal fans have speculated exactly what the bow means, believing it to be more than just an adorable accessory.
The pin actually has a charitable meaning and is a sign of Catherine’s royal patronage of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
Any female member of the club may wear the brooch to the event, so while the bow is stylish in its own right, it carries more meaning than just a simple accessory.
