The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge took their children on a staycation to the Isles of Scilly, where Prince William used to spend his summer as a child with parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and brother Harry. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Cambridges opted to stay in the country and spend some quality family time cycling across the island of Tresco.
Sources claimed the Duke and the Duchess feared the potential introduction of an unexpected quarantine if visiting another country would get in the way of work.
The Cambridges’ vacation reminisces of pictures dating back to June 1989 that show William in Scilly enjoying a bike ride with his family.
According to rumours, the Duke and Kate also flew to the Isles off the coast of Cornwall after their wedding in 2011.
A holidaymaker said: “William and Kate were riding their bicycles, having a laugh.
“They looked so happy enjoying the weather.
“I did do a double take. They were really friendly and said hello.”
During the coronavirus lockdown, the royal couple were staying with their children at their Anmer Hall residence in Norfolk.
A source told The Mirror: “They decided on a quick getaway before the children return to school.

He said: “I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once – she’s never let me forget that.
“That was early on in the courtship, that was – think that sealed the deal.”
As Mr Crouch laughed, the Duke added: “It didn’t go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars, it seemed like a good idea at the time.”
He also explained how having children has made him enjoy football more.
Asked if football is his “release”, William said: “It is now. Since becoming a dad, without a doubt, football has become way more important than it used to be.
“I need to go and be amongst other guys and let out some steam, shout a bit.”
He added: “It has become a lot more relevant to me and I need it. Talking about football helps a lot.”
Later in the discussion, he said: “This period of time has allowed us to all revalue things. The thing about lockdown is that it has been a little bit of an awakening that we maybe take our lives a bit for granted sometimes and there’s a lot of things out there that can wobble all of us at any time.
“I think particularly now, as a parent, it starts to make you look a bit more to the future at what kind of world we are going to hand over to the next generation.
“There’s been a lot of time to think – and you can also have too much time to think, and that’s also what worries me.”
