Kate Middleton and William face dilemma over Prince George and Charlotte return to school
Kate Middleton has ‘hands on’ parenting approach says expert
Prince William, 38, and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 38, are currently spending the holidays at Anmer Hall. The couple escaped London with Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two, ahead of Tier 4 restrictions coming into force. However, on Boxing Day, Norfolk was also placed in Tier 4, meaning the Cambridge family could become trapped by the tough restrictions.
The question of whether schools will reopen in January is still up for debate after the Government put in place stricter measures to try and tackle the rapid spread of Covid-19.
On Monday, cabinet officer Michael Gove told BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme he still expected Year 11 and Year 13 pupils to return in the first week of January, with the rest going back to the classroom later in the month.
Mr Gove said: “It is our intention to make sure we can get children back to school as early as possible.”

He added: “We have a new strain and it is also the case that we have also had, albeit in a very limited way, Christmas mixing, so we do have to remain vigilant.”
“We are confident that we will be able to get schools back in good order.
“Our plan and our timetable is there, and we are working with teachers to deliver it.”
Prince George and Princess Charlotte are both pupils at London private school Thomas’s Battersea.
According to the school’s website, it is due to re-open for the Lent Term on January 6.
During term time Kate, William and children are based at Kensington Palace, a short drive from George and Charlotte’s school.
However, ahead of the first lockdown William and Kate pulled their children out of school earlier and left the capital for Norfolk where they remained until May.
As schools remained open during the more recent lockdown, the Cambridges stayed put at Kensington Palace so George and Charlotte could still go to class.

Whether or not William and Kate choose to return to the capital despite Tier 4 restrictions remains to be seen.
The royal couple are likely to want to lead by example and follow government guidance to a tee.
What are Tier 4 travel restrictions?
According to the government website, Tier 4 travel restrictions are as follows: “If you live in a Tier 4 area, you must not leave your home unless you have a reasonable excuse (e.g. for work or education purposes).
“If you need to travel you should stay local – meaning avoiding travelling outside of your village, town or the part of a city where you live – and look to reduce the number of journeys you make overall.
“The list of reasons you can leave your home and area include, but are not limited to:
- Work, where you cannot work from home
- Accessing education and for caring responsibilities
- Visiting those in your support bubble – or your childcare bubble for childcare
- Visiting hospital, GP and other medical appointments or visits where you have had an accident or are concerned about your health
- Buying goods or services from premises that are open in Tier 4 areas, including essential retail, but these should be within your local area wherever possible
- outdoor recreation or exercise.
- This should be done locally wherever possible, but you can travel a short distance within your Tier 4 area to do so if necessary (for example, to access an open space)
- Attending the care and exercise of an animal, or veterinary services
- If you need to travel, walk or cycle where possible, and plan ahead and avoid busy times and routes on public transport.
