August is usually a particularly quiet month for the Royal Family, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could time their project to come out in line with children going back to school in September. With the Queen isolating at Balmoral and Prince Charles and Camilla also taking some time off, the Cambridges may feel they should be the face of the Royal Family at the moment. The back to school frenzy is expected to be even stronger this year, given how long children were off school before the summer holidays due to the coronavirus crisis.

What’s more, Kate has been stepping up her work to do with early years development, which would tie in nicely with any work to do with primary education.

Pod Save the Queen is hosted by Ann Gripper and features Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers.

Mr Myers presented his prediction in an episode of the podcast earlier this month.

He said: “August is normally very very quiet, it certainly will be for the Queen. I don’t think we’ll see any Zoom calls.

“Certainly Charles and Camilla are taking a couple of weeks off.

“I would imagine we’ll see something to do with the Cambridges.

“I don’t know for certain, but I think they feel as though they’re sort of flying the flag for The Firm at the moment, because the Queen’s still isolating and Charles has obviously had coronavirus and had to take a bit of a back seat ‒ and their stock is very very high and I think they would want to capitalise on that.

“And especially because the schools are going to go back fingers crossed, hopefully in September.

“And I wouldn’t be too surprised if we see them do something along the lines with schools or education or something.

“It fits very very well with what Kate’s doing so that’s my thoughts ‒ watch this space, I could be completely wrong!”

In this way, Mr Myers predicted that William and Kate’s next project will be soon, and could have something to do with schools or education.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been ramping up her efforts in the area of early years development during lockdown.

One particularly intriguing initiative is her work with baby banks all over the UK, which provide nappies, clothing and bedding to vulnerable families.

After visiting a baby bank in Kings’ Lynn towards the beginning of lockdown, Kate was brought to tears by the heartbreaking stories of struggling families.

As a result, she started contacting retailers and managed to get 19 brands to donate 10,000 new items to 40 baby banks across the country.

This is especially important at this time, because baby banks are facing a two-pronged attack of increased demand ‒ due to people losing their jobs and income ‒ and the fact they have been unable to accept second hand donations, due to the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Kate has also been working with the BBC on a project called Tiny Happy People, which provides resources for new parents.

The Duchess said the information available on the platform was “like gold dust” and said she wishes she had had it when she was a first-time mother.

Meanwhile, other royals have been taking a break, including the Queen, who is enjoying her usual summer holiday at Balmoral with Prince Philip.

The monarch was even spotted out for a walk with Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and their children.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are also taking a break after a flurry of royal engagements including the VJ Day commemorations and visiting the site of the train crash at Stonehaven.
