Kate Middleton and Prince William: The truth about their successful marriage revealed

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 37, and Prince William’s chemistry was clear to fans when they both appeared in a TV Christmas special alongside chef Mary Berry. The couple has been together for nearly two decades and has been married since 2011. The Duke and Duchess have three children under the age of 10 and are clearly dedicated to one another.

Prince William and Kate are both dedicated parents and are hands-on when it comes to caring for Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one.

Speaking in the BBC’s A Berry Royal Christmas programme Prince William mentioned how he does the school run while Kate said she does most of the cooking.

According to a royal source, Wills and Kate have a “traditional marriage” which works well for them.

A friend of the couple told PEOPLE magazine: “They look after each other but in different ways.

“Some people might say it’s an old-fashioned marriage, but it seems to work.”

The friend added: “They have different roles, but they come together as a team.”

Speaking to chef Mary Berry in the Christmas programme, which aired on BBC ONE on Monday, Kate explained how Wills initially wooed her with his cooking skills.

Kate said: “In university days he used to cook all sorts of meals

“I think that’s when he was trying to impress me, Mary! Things like Bolognese sauce and things like that.”

While the kitchen is more Kate’s domain these days the Duchess revealed Wills still cooks up a brilliant breakfast.

She said: “He sometimes does actually – he’s very good at breakfast.”

Kate also said preparing the children’s birthday cake falls to her every year but it is something she enjoys.

She said: “I love making the cake.

“It’s become a bit of a tradition that I sort of stay up until midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing, I make far too much, but I love it.”

When quizzed by Mary about his cooking skills, Wills was quick to play his talent down.

William told the chef: “I can do tea, Mary, but not cooking.

“Catherine is definitely the one who cooks, not me.”

On Wednesday Wills, Kate and their three children headed to Buckingham Palace with other Royal Family members for a special Christmas lunch with the Queen.

They are expected to join the Queen for Christmas day at Sandringham next week.
