Kate made ‘right decision’ as she snubs awards ceremony for Prince George

The Princess of Wales made the “right decision” to snub the Earthshot Prize Awards in Singapore next month, according to one royal expert.

It has been confirmed that Kate will not join William for the event next month, with the Princess opting to stay at home to “support” the couple’s eldest son through his exams.

Despite only being 10, Prince George is confirmed to have exams the same week that the trip is scheduled to take place.

According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Kate “absolutely [made] the right decision”.

Upon hearing that Kate will stay in Windsor, Ms Bond said: “I cheered out loud when I learned that Catherine had chosen to stay home with George.”

Speaking to OK!, she added: “Official duties will come and go; children need their parents, and they grow up fast. There will be more Earthshot events and prizes. But this year, George has his own big event going on – exams.

“It is entirely right that his mum should be there to help him through them.

“I expect William is kicking himself that his schedule clashes with George’s exams, but he will be wholly supportive of Catherine staying home to help their son.”

William’s visit to Singapore will mark the third annual Earthshot Prize, with the first taking place in London in 2021.

Despite nothing actually confirmed yet, Prince George is expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and attend Eton College.

Due to his current age, George would attend from September 2026 when he turns 13.

Earlier this year, the young royal was pictured on a tour of the grounds with his parents sparking rumours that he will go there.

Moving away from tradition, George could also attend Marlborough College in Wiltshire – just like his mum.
