Kate has been described as her husband’s “pillar of strength”, as the Duchess helps him navigate the fallout from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. A royal insider said the couple depend on each other to help them through difficult times.

The source told US Weekly magazine: “Kate’s used to all eyes being on her.

“Being in a strong, solid marriage to William helps.

“They lean on each other for support during difficult times and will talk through their problems.

“She’s been her husband’s pillar of strength throughout this whole ordeal.”

Another source said: “Kate is a natural leader who has a magnificent ability to remain composed, even during the most challenging situations.”

The Royal Family are currently grappling with the fallout from the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ two-hour interview with Oprah.

During the unprecedented interview, the couple made a number of incendiary claims, accusing an unnamed family member of racism and saying the Firm failed to support Meghan when she was feeling suicidal.

Harry also opened up on his relationship with his older brother.

He said: “I love William to bits. We’ve been through hell together, and we have a shared experience, but we are on different paths.

“The relationship is space at the moment, and time heals all things, hopefully.”

But Harry said he “will always be there” for William and his family.

The younger brother also claimed he felt “trapped” within the monarchy and went on to say his father and brother are also “trapped” within the institution.

He said: “I am part of the system with them, I always have been, but I guess — and I’m very aware of this — my brother can’t leave that system, but I have.

“My father and my brother are trapped. They don’t get to leave, and I have huge compassion for that.”

William publicly defended the Firm during a royal visit earlier this month, where he said the Royal Family “is very much not racist”.

A friend of Meghan’s revealed last week that Harry had chatted to William and his father over the phone, but with little success.

US anchor Gayle King said: “It’s true Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too.

“The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive.

“But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.”
