Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have reportedly been in contact about a new Netflix venture which will focus on the Duchess of Cambridge and her philanthropy work. The relationship between the two women was reportedly icy following several media reports they clashed over the treatment of staff and bridesmaid clothes options for Meghan’s wedding – leaving Kate in tears. The Duchess of Sussex told Oprah Winfrey it was in fact Kate who made her cry as the royal insider appears to suggest the relationship between the duchesses is getting better.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed a multi-million-pound deal with Netflix to create content for their platform after they left the Royal Family in 2020.

Prince Harry will begin filming of the Invictus Game documentary, Heart of Invictus, towards the end of 2021 where film crews will head to the UK to follow participants of the games.

Meghan on the other hand is currently working on a new animated series codenamed “Pearl” which will follow a young girl exploring the history of influential women.

But a source told US Weekly that Meghan may have extended an olive branch to Kate to showcase her charity work through collaboration.

The source said: “Meghan and Kate are actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often.

“Meghan has been talking to her about collaborating on a project for Netflix, a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy…

“Kate is very flattered, and it’s all very positive between them.”

However, celebrity news site Page Six said sources denied the claims.

The Dish Nation podcast commented on the reports, saying Kate and Meghan were willing to put aside their differences “for the bag”.

One member added: “I also think that Kate is doing it because they’re not as popular as the Sussexes so doing this documentary is doing for the bag but also for the clout.”

The most recent YouGov poll on Royal Family popularity put the Queen, Prince William, and Kate as the top three most popular royals.

Subsequently, Meghan, Prince Harry, and Prince Andrew take the bottom three slots out of a total of 15 senior members.

Filmmaker and Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, is involved in Meghan’s “Pearl” series which is believed to be in the early stages of development.

Elton John, who is a close friend of the Sussexes, may lend a musical hand to the production as he has helped with Mr Furnish’s previous films.

The show will focus on a 12-year-old girl who is “inspired” by famous women in history.

In a press release, Meghan said: “Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges.

“I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.”

Prince Harry also revealed he has been working on a memoir over the past year which is due to be published in 2022.
