Kate and Prince William took to Twitter to wish Team GB the best as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics begin. They wrote from their social media account: “Wishing @ParalympicsGB and all the athletes from around the world the best of luck in this year’s #Paralympics.
“We can’t wait to see the talent and skill displayed over the next two weeks #ImpossibleToIgnore”.
The Paralympics begins today and will see 227 British athletes compete in various sports until September 5.
The message shared by Kate and William comes as the Queen has retreated at Balmoral Castle for her traditional summer break.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s best wishes also come after Prince Edward shared a similar message to Team GB athletes.
As the patron of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Paralympic team, the Earl of Wessex told the athletes on Friday: “I want to wish you the very best of luck”.
