To celebrate International Nurses Day, many members of the Royal Family joined a Zoom call, speaking to nurses from around the world. Royal fans noted that Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, appeared of many of the same calls together in the video montage. ABC News royal contributor Omid Scobie discussed the much overlooked friendship between the two royal women on his HeirPod.
Mr Scobie told listeners: “We saw Kate and Sophie team together on one call.
“That’s the first time we’ve really seen them together on an engagement.
“Speaking to nurses in seven of the Commonwealth countries, it showed a bit of their friendship as well.
“They were joking themselves about home schooling amid the more serious questions they had about COVID-19.”
He continued: “It was a nice break from what we had seen.
“Everyone’s struggle at the moment is how to keep Zoom calls interesting.
“It sort of has the same feel after a while.
“So to keep that content engaging and interesting, especially for such an important day, was a smart move.”
On one call, a nurse mentions that his ex-wife is a teacher, which is helping massively with home schooling in the lockdown.
Sophie joked that he should “be careful” because his former spouse was “about to be recruited”.
Kate laughed, saying that she’d like his ex-wife to “come and help” her tutor her own children.
