Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge have been praised for “breaking the cycle” of marital failure that is rife in the House of Windsor. William’s parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, had a famously tumultuous marriage that ended in a nasty divorce. Just one of the Queen’s children has not got divorced, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The List detailed the Duke and Duchess’ relationship on their YouTube video titled: The Sad Royal Tradition William & Kate Have Finally Broken.

Narrator Christine Liwag-Dixon said: “Robert Lacey, who authored the 2020 William and Harry biography, Battle of Brothers, claimed to People in 2021 that William and Kate’s loving relationship is nothing less than a historical landmark for the Royal Family.

“He wrote ‘the House of Windsor has an abysmal track record of marital failure, but William has broken the cycle’.”

Ms Liwag-Dixon added: “Lacey largely credited Kate for helping William Break the cycle describing her as an ’empathetic outsider from middle-class origins’.”

“It doesn’t hurt that the couple can look up to Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton who have been married for more than 41 years.”

Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, William and Kate’s former private secretary, shared his views on why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been so successful in their union.

According to him, William “has the experience of knowing where the institution sits and seeing it evolve,” while Kate, “brings this pragmatic awareness of what it’s like to be from a decent down-to-earth family. “

The couple are very close to Kate’s parents, and they often spent time with them in their Berkshire home with their children before the pandemic forced everyone to take a step back from meeting with their loved ones.

Kate and William met in 2001, during their first year at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

They lived in the same residence hall and soon became friends.

During their engagement interview Kate recalled: “I actually think I went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off, feeling very shy.”]
