The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have spent the majority of their time in Sandringham over the past few months, choosing to spend the whole of the third lockdown there. But it has since emerged the couple have returned to the capital with their three children, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.

Their return to Kensington Palace coincides with the national reopening of schools, which sees George and Charlotte return to the classroom yesterday.

Kate has been pictured driving around London this week.

It is not known when the family decided to return to their London residence.

Kate and William’s eldest children will remain at school until the term ends on March 26 and won’t return until the end of the Easter holiday.

The Cambridge’s return to London coincided with the release of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with American chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

The sit-down chat first aired on US network CBS on Sunday night, before being shown in the UK on ITV last night.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a number of explosive claims about the Royal Family during the two-hour interview, with Meghan claiming Kate made her cry just days before her wedding in May 2018.

It had previously been reported Meghan made Kate cry, as the pair fell out over bridesmaid’s dresses.

Oprah asked Meghan: “Did you make Kate cry?”

After pausing for several seconds, the Duchess replied: “No, no, the reverse happened.

“And I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone.”

She continued: “It was a really hard week of the wedding and she was upset about something but she owned it and she apologised and she bought me flowers, and a note apologising.

“She did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone.”

Meghan added that she thought her sister-in-law was a “good person” and she hadn’t set the record straight because she wanted to “protect” Kate from the truth coming out.

Other claims made in the interview included an accusation that a member of the family made a racist remark about the skin colour of their unborn first child.

Meghan also said the Firm failed to provide her with help when she was struggling with her mental health.

The Queen has so far refused to sign off on a prepared statement, with the monarch reportedly wanting more time to consider her response to the tell-all chat, according to the Times.

The newspaper reports the statement is expected to “highlight the family’s love and concern for the couple”.

Crisis talks took place yesterday, which were attended by the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William.

The Prince of Wales carried out a royal engagement this morning, where he visited Jesus House church in London to see an NHS vaccine pop-up clinic in action.

He met with NHS and church staff working on the vaccination pop-up clinic as well as community members due to receive their jab.

Oprah With Meghan and Harry aired on ITV at 9pm on Monday March 8. You can watch the full interview on the ITV hub.
