In a new ITV3 documentary ‘Kate: The Making of a Modern Queen’, a royal commentator claimed the Duchess of Cambridge has “injected quite a lot of glamour” into the Royal Family. Both Prince William and Kate were praised for their charitable activites as working members of the monarchy, which has helped cement their popularity across the generations.
Royal commentator Emily Nash said: “I think William and Kate have brought a real relevance to the monarchy.
“They are young, they’re very good-looking, Kate’s certainly injected quite a lot of glamour.
“But more importantly perhaps, they’re working on subjects that are very relevant to the younger generation at the moment.
“So in their charity work, they’re focusing on things like mental health, wildlife conservation, and even things like cyber-bullying which is a real modern-day issue.”
According to the latest YouGov polls, Prince William and Kate are ranked as the second and third most popular members of the Royal Family.
Since Prince Harry and Meghan left the monarchy and the beginning of the pandemic, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have increased their public profiles and have taken on more responsibilities to assist the Queen.
They have been praised for their efforts to boost community spirits during the lockdown, and for hosting regular events to thank NHS and healthcare workers.
In December last year, they undertook a 3-day tour across the UK to visit various frontline workers and hospitals, and they religiously took part in the ‘Clap for Carers’ on Thursday evenings.

They also maintained their busy schedules by transitioning to Zoom and continued with their official engagements.
Last year, the Duchess of Cambridge launched her ‘Hold Still: A Portrait of a Nation’ project, which was organised alongside the National Portrait Gallery.
The Duchess appealed for members of the public to submit their images of lockdown life, with the top 100 images selected to be shown on billboards and murals across the country.
In recent months, Kate has also launched The Royal Foundation for Early Childhood, a hub that will help push for increased awareness of and new research into the impact of the early years.
Childhood development, as well as addiction, homelessness, and physical exercise, are key issues that the Duchess has focused on during the last ten years.
